Do you charge for estimates?

No — we offer free estimates on all repair and installation jobs. You'll receive a clear, upfront quote before any work begins. We believe in transparent pricing with no surprises on your final bill.

How is pricing determined for HVAC repairs?

Pricing is based on the type of repair, parts needed, and labor time. We use flat-rate pricing on common repairs so you know the cost before we start. Diagnostic fees (if applicable) are waived when you proceed with the repair.

How quickly can you respond to an emergency call?

For emergency calls, we typically dispatch a technician within 1–2 hours across most of San Diego County. We operate 24/7, 365 days a year — because your comfort can't wait until morning.

Do you offer same-day service for non-emergencies?

Yes — we offer same-day appointments Monday through Saturday, 8am–6pm, subject to availability. Book online or call us early for the best chance at a same-day slot in your area.

What are your business hours?

Regular hours: Monday–Saturday, 8am–6pm. Emergency service is available 24/7, including Sundays and holidays. A premium emergency fee applies for after-hours calls.

Are your technicians licensed and insured?

Yes. All CoolFixPro technicians are fully licensed — HVAC License #1132907 and Appliances License #A50664 — EPA 608 certified for refrigerant handling, and NATE certified. Our business carries full general liability and workers' compensation insurance. You can verify our HVAC license at cslb.ca.gov.

Do you run background checks on technicians?

Absolutely. Every CoolFix Pro technician undergoes a comprehensive background check before joining our team. We want you to feel safe and comfortable with every person we send to your home.

What brands do you service?

We service all major HVAC brands including Trane, Carrier, Lennox, Goodman, York, Rheem, American Standard, Bryant, Daikin, Mitsubishi, and more. For appliances: Whirlpool, GE, Samsung, LG, Maytag, Frigidaire, KitchenAid, Bosch, and most others. Not sure if we service yours? Just call!

How often should I service my AC in San Diego?

We recommend a professional AC tune-up once a year, ideally in spring before the San Diego heat season begins. Regular maintenance extends system life, improves efficiency, and catches small issues before they become expensive repairs.

Should I repair or replace my HVAC system?

A good rule of thumb: if the repair cost exceeds 50% of the system's replacement value AND the unit is more than 10 years old, replacement is usually the smarter investment. Our technicians will always give you an honest recommendation — we never push replacements when a repair will do the job well.

Can you help me with my home's thermostat or smart home system?

Yes! We install, replace, and program all types of thermostats, including Nest, Ecobee, Honeywell, and standard thermostats. Proper thermostat setup can significantly improve comfort and energy efficiency.
